Creating Buzz With Social Media

The Wikipedia definition of social media is online content created by people using highly accessible and scalable publishing technologies. At its most basic sense, social media is a shift in how people discover, read and share news, information and content. It's a fusion of sociology and technology, transforming monologues (one to many) into dialogues (many to many) and is the democratization of information, transoforming people from content readers into publishers. Social media has become extremely popular because it allows people to connect in the online world to form relationships for personal, political and business uses. Businesses also refer to social media as user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated medai (CGM).

That being said, I'll try to connect the different types of media with examples of the many ways to create a buzz that gets a high response or generates a lot of traffic.

1. Marketing Ideas, Reviews, Tips
We understand that everyone is advertising these days, just about anyone can use networking advise and tips whether their field is internet marketing, or entertainment, or fitness. Many people have become marketers to a certain degree in order to accomplish the results that they desire. It's always a good idea to increase knowledge of new things as a way to stay in touch with the current issues. The term networking is a concept that can be applied to many different fields and be very useful in different ways for the same purposes it is used. Therefore creating a buzz with social networking in nearly any field is a good choice in topics and methods.

2. Blogging Resources
Blogs and blogging is much more common today than it has been in the past. Even so much as almost replacing the term "site" with the word "blog". Experts agree that blogs go a long way to establish a better relationship with the general public and an efficient customer service in which a more personal touch can be used with consumers. Statistics say that blog readership is growing among all demographics.

Blogging isn't so much a hobby anymore, rather it's big business with many companies. Creating a buzz with a blog is an ideal way to drive traffic and give information about specials and features not explained on a regular company website. A blog is more personal naturally and can help your company provide a much more responsive customer service with comments and feedback.

3. Microblogging
The most popular way of communicating hot topics these days is through microblogging with networks such as Twitter. There are others and the choice is yours, but the emerging trends say a lot about the fantastic scope of the new networks. The numerous applications that are available for Twitter make the experience so much more fun and enjoyable. People become addicted and it's not so much work as it is a social experience to use it.

Of the many applications I'll choose only two to discuss with you today because of the bloggability and research that can and has been done and shared already. I have two concise methods for generating interest and positive communications about several ideas and topics.

The first is TweetCloud.com, an application that creates word clouds based on the most frequently used words in any public Twitterer's tweets. The users say you can "make a word cloud from a public Twitter stream." Not only is it fun and informative, but it delves into the minds of Twitter users and gives you an interesting look into just what their current obsessions are.

The second application I'd like to share with you is FileSocial.com. FileSocial allows you to share any file through your Twitter account. All you have to do is enter your Twitter login and password, write some text, and attach the document you want to share. Automatically, your Twitter will display a tweet with your message and a link to the file. How easy! That means any document from pdfs, pics, mp3s, to videos.

Keep in mind these are constantly changing and growing areas of communication and interaction. The stories, as the Wikipedia definition says, evolves and gets passed along so the buzz keeps moving on. The common interest at any given time is the uniqueness of the message and the coincidence of the individual user's experience with it. The beauty of it lies in the individual's imagination and the sharing of ideas.
